Kidnapped, buried alive yoga teacher escapes after pretending to be dead

A 35-year-old yoga teacher from Bengaluru narrowly escaped death after allegedly being kidnapped, assaulted and buried alive by four hired killers, by pretending to be dead.
The incident took place in a forest area in Chikkaballapur district, where her abductors left her in a shallow pit covered with branches, assuming she was dead.
The woman, Archana, used her yoga expertise in breath control and pretended to be dead. Believing her lifeless, the assailants dumped her in a pit and fled the scene with her valuables.
Once they left, she climbed out of the pit and reached the police station to file a complaint.
According to the Chikkaballapur district police, she was targeted due to her alleged relationship with Santosh, a friend of her husband.
Santosh’s wife, Bindu, was reportedly suspicious of their relationship, so she plotted Archana’s murder. Bindu allegedly hired Satheesh Reddy, a man with a criminal record, to carry out the attack.
Reddy reportedly befriended Archana under the pretext of wanting to learn yoga. After gaining her trust, he arranged for her abduction. Along with three others, he assaulted her in his car before taking her to the forest.
The police arrested Satheesh Reddy and Bindu, as well as three others, identified as Nagendra Reddy, Ramana Reddy and Ravi, recovering the cash and jewellery stolen from Archana.
Chikkaballapur Superintendent of Police, DL Nagesh, stated: “On October 24, we received a complaint from Archana about kidnap, assault, and an attempt on her life. Bindu had allegedly hired Satheesh Reddy, who posed as a detective. All accused have been arrested.”
